The Brown Story:

This story began at a Jimmy Buffet concert way back in 1996, when Paul & Kaye fell in love. Even then, Paul was just as earthy; growing his own food, brewing his own beer, foraging for mushrooms & what not. Kaye thought that his ways were odd, but she loved him nonetheless.
Paul began brewing mead (honey wine) in the late 90’s. Instead of buying honey, Paul took up beekeeping. His bees provided not only honey, but wax. With the wax, Paul began making hand & lip balms.

Then Paul & Kaye had a bunch of babies. And they began reading labels a little more carefully. They noticed that food, skin care products, even toys were made of & full of what some might call poisons. Not good enough for the Brown babies.

So Paul & Kaye made a few changes. Paul began growing & hunting even more of his family’s food. They got some chickens. They made the baby food. They made the toys. They made the soaps & lotions. They made simple changes for a better life.

They have a few small plots of land in the city where they keep gardens, apiaries, & an orchard. They make what they can; if they can’t make it, they try to buy local. They teach their children at home. They work every day to live a self-sufficient, simple, & gentle life; not on a farm, but in a big old Victorian right downtown.

Today, Paul & Kaye are still very much in love & she no longer thinks that his ways are so odd. They are kept happy & busy raising four free-range children, renovating their huge hungry house, & selling natural products to kind people.
