Some treasures are made to be passed down. This hand-carved stone nativity scene by Kentucky artist Joseph Farmer is one of them! Shaped by hand from natural stone, this piece brings a quiet, timeless beauty to your holiday tradition.
Every chisel mark tells a story. Joseph carves each piece himself, so no two nativity scenes are ever alike — the stone, the shape, and the hand-carved details are completely unique to each piece he creates. You can browse photos of past carvings to get a sense of his style and skill, but know that the piece you bring home will be entirely its own. The natural grain and texture of the stone give each scene a warmth and character that mass-produced decor simply can't match. It's a true work of Kentucky craftsmanship, made to be displayed and treasured for years to come.
Whether you're a collector of Kentucky folk art or searching for a meaningful Christmas gift, this nativity scene makes a heartfelt choice. Joseph has created beautiful nativity scenes before — each one different from the last — and the piece available today carries that same spirit of one-of-a-kind artistry. Picture it on a mantel, a sideboard, or at the center of your family's holiday gathering, a keepsake that grows more special each season.
Shop online and we'll ship it to your door, or stop by our Louisville store on Shelbyville Road to see the detail up close. Make this one-of-a-kind piece part of your family's story today!
