Cruise Customs Flags are more than a beautiful piece of art.  Each flag is totally handcrafted from repurposed Kentucky bourbon barrel staves by owner Chris Cruise and his wife Amber who create them in their workshop, after their regular day jobs.

Chris was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and returned to Kentucky where bourbon and horseracing are popular. Chris found bourbon barrels available to create, with the help of some donated tools, design and make the flags. But perhaps more importantly, he wanted to build a small business that would assist other returning veterans to transition back into civilian life.

“The bourbon barrels once served a good purpose, aging the fine Kentucky bourbon, so we wanted to provide veterans with the opportunity to seek a new purpose once they got out of the military.”  said Chris.

Chris has shipped the bourbon flags all across the country and has drawn the interest of a variety of folks including the Huffington Post and WDRB TV and WAVE3 TV in Louisville.
